Kotobuki Takaoka – Japanese copper incense burner

Handmade artwork for happiness and harmony

The Kotobuki Takaoka is a fine Japanese incense burner that combines traditional craftsmanship with deep symbolism. Its name, "Kotobuki," means "luck," and refers to the lucky bird that adorns the ornate lid. With its curved lines and meticulous craftsmanship, this incense burner is not only a functional object but also an expression of Japanese aesthetics and spirituality.

The living tradition from Takaoka
Since 1611, the city of Takaoka has been known for its outstanding metalwork. At that time, Lord Maeda Toshinaga invited seven metal casters to promote the region's economy—the beginning of a long tradition. Today, Takaoka is considered a center of Japanese casting, with techniques passed down from generation to generation. The Kotobuki Takaoka is an authentic testament to this cultural heritage.

Perfect for your smoking rituals
The incense burner is filled with compressed rice ash, into which you can place your incense sticks. Thanks to the lack of a bamboo core, the sticks burn completely and leave no residue. Whether for meditation, ceremonies, or as a decorative highlight – the Kotobuki Takaoka enriches your home with its presence and functionality.
