Organic Matcha “Nagomi” – Sustainable enjoyment, pure or as a creamy Matcha Latte
24g - Premium Organic Matcha from Shimane
"Nagomi" (和) stands for harmony , peace , and balance in Japanese – values that this tea embodies in every cup. It is the successor to our popular organic matcha "Shuhou" and has been carefully refined by our tea partners in Japan to preserve its beginner-friendly character. A matcha for everyone , it delights both neat and as a creamy matcha latte – perfect for everyday enjoyment or special moments during a break.
Taste & Character
Subtle earthy-chocolate nuances, slightly bitter yet pleasantly smooth, accompanied by mild umami . This balanced flavor makes "Nagomi" an approachable, versatile companion—ideal for matcha latte , but also a delight on its own.
Sustainable organic farming in Japan
Finding genuine Japanese organic matcha remains rare: Less than ten percent of the cultivation areas are certified organic . Avoiding pesticides requires great skill, patience, and a willingness to take risks from the tea farmers. Our partners in Shimane have been committed to this sustainable cultivation method for years – out of respect for nature and for the unadulterated taste.
Origin
The "Nagomi" comes from Shimane , a region in western Japan known for its clean water, nutrient-rich soil, and mild climate. These conditions produce an intensely green leaf and a particularly smooth, rounded aroma that fully unfolds both when enjoyed on its own and in a matcha latte .
Preparation recommendation
For a harmonious bowl “Nagomi”:
-
Heat 100–150 ml of water to approx. 80 °C.
-
Sift 2 bamboo spoons (1.5–2 g) of matcha powder into a bowl ( chawan ).
-
Mix the powder with a small sip of water until a smooth paste forms.
-
Add the remaining water and beat with the matcha whisk ( chasen ) in Z-motions until a fine foam forms.
Packaging
Each tin of "Nagomi" comes in an elegant black and gold metal tin decorated with delicate Japanese calligraphy . The airtight and light-tight seal preserves the powder's aroma and freshness —from the first opening to the last serving.
