Sencha Yakumo Homare: Spring in your cup

90g

This exquisitely composed green tea is characterized by its bright green appearance and rich umami aroma . The delicate balance between a hint of spinach and cress makes this Sencha a fresh pleasure that invigorates the senses. Perfect for a good start to the day. It is named after a stretch of land near the city of Matsue, which bears the poetic name “Yakumo” - “Great Cloud Splendor”. Incidentally: Lafcadio Hearn, the writer whose books around 1900 gave the western world a deep insight into the soul of Japan, chose “Yakumo” as his Japanese surname.

Shinkoko’s tea journey began with this Sencha

A few years ago, Hojun, a Buddhist monk from Tokyo, gave us this tea with the words: “This is my Zen tea”. After the first cup of Yakumo Homare, it was clear to us that we wanted to share this tea pleasure with people in Europe. Today we can offer you this Sencha. We hope that it is as inspiring for you as it is for us.

  • 300 ml water, 70 degrees
  • 4-6 g (3 tsp) tea
