A tea for all deities: The legendary Izumo Taisha Sencha

24 g / 8 tea bags

In Izumo, home to one of Japan's oldest Shinto temples, millions of kami (deities) gather every year to discuss people's fate. It is said that they also decide on future marriages together. A very special tea is served on this occasion: our Izumo Taisha Sencha.

A Touch of Earth and Sky

This Sencha impresses with its bright green color and a harmonious blend of fruity, sweet aromas and gentle umami. The place was named "Izumo", literally "coming out clouds", because the god couple Susanoo and Kushinadahime built a palace here that is surrounded by a cloud fence. A fitting name for our Sencha with its earthy yet light character.

Share and enjoy

The Izumo Shrine is dedicated to Okuninushi-no-okami, the god of relationships. This tea is therefore ideal to enjoy with important people - whether as a gift or during a shared tea moment. We offer the Izumo Taisha Sencha in compostable pyramid tea bags.

  • 1 tea bag
  • 300 ml of water at 70 °C
