Sencha Yakumo Homare: Spring in Your Cup

80 g

This exquisitely blended green tea is characterized by its vibrant green appearance and a rich umami flavor. The delicate balance between a hint of spinach and watercress makes this Sencha a refreshing delight that invigorates the senses. Perfect for a good start to the day. It is named after a region near the city of Matsue, which bears the poetic name "Yakumo" - "Great Cloud Splendor." By the way: Lafcadio Hearn, the writer whose books around 1900 gave the Western world a deep insight into the soul of Japan, chose "Yakumo" as his Japanese surname.

Shinkoko's Tea Journey Began with This Sencha

A few years ago, Hojun, a Buddhist monk from Tokyo, gave us this tea, saying, "This is my Zen tea." After the first cup of Yakumo Homare, it was clear to us: we want to share this tea enjoyment with people in Europe. Today, we can offer you this Sencha. We hope it will be as inspiring for you as it is for us.

Preparation

  • 300 ml water, 70 degrees
  • 4-6 g (3 tsp) tea
  • 2 minutes brewing time

The preparation of your tea is individual. Here is our tip, but feel free to try different amounts and temperatures.
