Shinkoko setzt auf Direktimport

Shinkoko relies on direct import

Have you ever wondered why there are such big differences in the quality of matcha? We at Shinkoko have recognized the problem - and found a solution: direct import from Japan. Freshness is the ultimate goal when it comes to matcha! Let us explain to you why this is a real advantage for you as a tea fan.

Matcha Market: The Challenges

Did you know that only 20-25% of the matcha sold worldwide comes from Japan? This means that most of the matcha that is sold does not meet the high quality standards that are maintained in Japan, the land of matcha. You should really just call it "tea powder"! The result is that large trading houses flood the international market with cheap, low-quality "matcha" tea powder. Such matchas often end up in cafés and tea shops via tea wholesalers from Austria or Germany - and unfortunately also in many households. Of course there are exceptions, but only a few reputable Japanese retailers can guarantee really high-quality goods. In addition, the matcha is almost exclusively brought to Austria by ship. It can take up to four months for the matcha to actually end up in the shop.

This is exactly where Shinkoko comes in.

Our approach: direct import from Japan

We take a different approach - directly by air freight. At Shinkoko, we import matcha, green tea and accessories not only directly from Japan, but also directly from the manufacturers, and using the fastest route possible!

What does this mean for you?

  • Exclusivity : We work with selected producers and are even the exclusive distribution partner for these products.
  • Quality : Because we control the entire supply chain, we can guarantee the highest quality – both for end customers and wholesalers

Green tea is something personal – our service is too

Green tea and matcha are more than just drinks - they are culture, tradition and a little piece of Japan. That is precisely why we attach great importance to personal advice.

What makes us special?

  • We take the time to introduce you to tea, whether online or in our shop in Vienna.
  • Workshops: Would you like to learn more about Matcha? We offer workshops where you can taste the tea and learn how to prepare it properly.
  • Sharing knowledge: We are currently working on a comprehensive knowledge database about green tea and matcha. This way, you can delve deeper into the subject at any time.

Freshness: An unbeatable advantage

Did you know that matcha tastes best when it's fresh? Thanks to our direct import, we guarantee exactly that.

How do we do that?

  • No intermediate storage: The tea comes directly from Japan to us in Vienna, without detours.
  • Stored in a cool place: All of our matchas are stored in the refrigerator to preserve their taste and quality.
  • Regular deliveries: We receive fresh goods from Japan every month.

This is important because once opened, you should use matcha within 4-6 weeks to enjoy its full flavor.

price advantages thanks to direct import

Quality doesn't have to be expensive. Because we do not use middlemen, we can keep prices low - both for you as the end customer and for our wholesale customers.

The shorter the supply chain, the better. This applies not only to the quality, but also to your wallet.
